Aquaculture Treat (AQ) is a microbial product designed as a powerful pond management tool, injecting stability into pond operations. The microbes in AQ consume organics in pond water which drastically reduces ammonia, nitrates and virtually eliminates pond bottom sludge. Additionally, the product reduces disease outbreaks, both by creating a healthier pond environment and through the process of competitive displacement of pathogens.
AQ microbes are formulated to accelerate decomposition and digestion of excess nutrients including ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates, urea and fecal matter in aquaculture and ponds. The product is a blend of facultatively anaerobic and aerobic microbial cultures, making this product effective across the diverse conditions that exist in shrimp and aquaculture operations.
Location
Commercial Shrimp Farm
Problem
Commercial shrimp farm with high pond bottom sludge and routinely diseased shrimp that was forced to do 8-10 water changes throughout the shrimp cycle to avoid having mass shrimp death and emergency harvest.
Treatment
Bio-Green AQ powder applied every 7 days to the pond
Results
Water changes during the 3 month cycle were eliminated. Water change between cycles was eliminated. Pathogenic pond bottom sludge was eliminated. Trial pond did not need to be dried out and cleaned after the 3 month cycle.
Disease incidence reduced; shrimp were cleaner, healthier and more uniform in size. Survival rate was increased by 8%. Total production from a 7,000 sq. meter pond increased from 3,650 kg to 4,268 kg. Total profit increased by 36%
